Why/how
A drought is caused by a lack of precipitation over a long period of time. Rain can occur. If rain does occur, it isn't enough for the ground to absorb. It simply evaporates.
Lack of precipitation, is caused by high air pressure. If there is a high air pressure, the air doesn't rise high enough for it to condense into water particles.
Scientists say droughts are a result of climate change. Global Warming. Saying the whole
world is getting warmer, the already hot areas are suffering from the effects of unusually hot weather. (Droughts)
